Krasnoyarsk is one of the older towns in Siberia, founded in 1628 as a trading post along the Yenisei River. We stopped at a local market for a bit of shopping, and then a tour of the city. Again, I was struck by how empty the river seemed. It didn't seem much busier on as depicted on the 10 Rouble note, either. This day became known as the 'Day of the Big Fish' due to a sculpture near the Yenisei River.

Unfortunately, one can't say much about Novosibirsk, other than it is a thoroughly 'Soviet' city, the largest city in Siberia. After the city tour, we had a short stop at the nearby West Siberian Rail Museum.
